It’s happened to all of us at one time or another-we’re shopping up a storm when hunger strikes. Then comes the dilemma-“I’m on a roll, I’d rather spend my cash on a great necklace than a slap-up lunch.” So, inevitably we opt for the quickest, most convenient option-Pret-A-Manger (or the like) which, for all intents and purposes is fine but may not be as wholesome and nutritious as we’d like (or need to keep shopping without fainting and taking a mannequin with us!) Which is why I’m so excited that the brilliant Detox Kitchen has now created a selection of Grab ‘n’ Go options for Selfridges.
The healthy food company is headed up by chef Lily Simpson with the help of top nutritionist Rob Hobson and is a fore-runner in the big healthy eating movement in London. Their creations can often be seen in the skinny grasp of celebrities such as Elle Macpherson, Suki Waterhouse, Gwyneth Paltrow and top models throughout LFW. With five meal plans depending on your needs, The Detox Kitchen’s latest set-up in the department store is a third foodie destination for the company who also have The Detox Deli in Soho and Harvey Nichols.
This is such a great step forward for accessible healthy eating in the UK and a much-needed solution for busy Londoners who make poor food choices everyday due to convenience and cost. But with prices ranging from £4.45-£6.95 for a salad, it’s a small price to pay for a nutritious lunch.
I can’t wait for The Detox Kitchen’s new cookbook out on 7th May-look out for it!

I haven’t been a fan of concealer since I was at school and used a particularly cakey Body Shop version. I didn’t need it but wanted to bulk out my adolescent makeup bag. But as I’ve got older, I’ve discovered the importance of a light concealer under areas of unevenness or a particularly late night! This concealer from the Creme De La Mer is a significant upgrade from The Body Shop and doesn’t clog the skin or appear thick and cakey. Thanks to marine and plant extracts it not only neutralises redness but also helps reduce the appearance of undereye puffiness and dark circles. It’s a little more expensive than I usually pay for concealer but due to it’s radiant finish, it eradicates the need for foundation-perfect for those off-duty days.
