If you loved The September Issue (let’s face it, who didn’t?) then you’re going to be enthralled by the latest documentary film sweeping the fashion circuit. The First Monday in May provides us with an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into one of the biggest nights in fashion – The Met Gala.
Last year, filmmaker Andrew Rossi followed legendary US Vogue editor Anna Wintour and the Met Museum’s Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton (who also co-curated the Alexander McQueen retrospective, ‘Savage Beauty’) as they planned the legendary event, which marks the opening of the Met’s spring costume exhibition; ‘China: Through The Looking Glass’.
In the newly released trailer we see fashion heavyweights Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley give their thoughts on the event alongside celebrities such as Rhianna and Lady Gaga. But if there’s one thing we all want to see it’s what goes wrong – from seating politics to celeb budgets. Oooh we can hardly wait!
