It’s become as synomonous with Christmas as the John Lewis advert, and this year Claridges Christmas tree doesn’t disappoint. Their time-old tradition of employing a fashion designer to create the hotel centre-piece has been continued this year as Burberry’s Christopher Bailey was the chosen one.

The tree was unveiled on Monday 16th November and provides an “innovative and modern contrast” to the hotel’s classic art deco interiors. Playing on last years festive advert, Christopher has used over 100 gold and silver umbrella’s to create the overall shape and includes sensors to activate twinkling lights when a guest walks past.

Simple in stature, yes but Bailey has stayed true to his English roots with this one and we can all relate his decision to use umbrella’s…especially on a day like today!
