John Galliano, one of fashion’s most notorious and theatrical designers has finally been confirmed as the new creative director of Maison Martin Margiela.
This comes after the 53-year-old was very publicly ousted from Christian Dior in 2011 following a controversial outburst in a Paris cafe. Renzon Rosso, the president of the OTB group, which owns Margiela, said in a press release that the French fashion house is “ready for a new charismatic creative soul.”
“John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time,” Rosso said. “A unique, exceptional courtier for a Maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that Fashion Dream that only he can create.”
John Galliano will make his comeback debut during Paris Couture fashion Week in January. We can hardly wait!
