As New York Fashion Week comes to an end, Wednesday was a mixed bag of metallics, florals and frills. The latter was sported by super-stylist, Rachel Zoe’s new collection as an array of girly silhouettes and bohemian prints often worn by Zoe herself.

The ongoing check and gingham trend was continued in Proenza Schouler designer duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough took inspiration from past American youth uniform such as blouses with bombers, Nylon anoraks and tennis dresses.

Known for its flattering tailoring, Hugo Boss showcased a more feminine flair thanks to Jason Wu, moving the work wear aesthetic into a softer, more casual direction.Short tweed dresses, collarless shifts and geometric prints in powder blue and soft greys dominated the catwalk in Wu’s second runway show.

Anna Sui and Jeremy Scott showed more rebellious collections with clashing prints and grungy biker boots, synonymous with their brand identity.

Audiences of Michael Kors runway show were treated to a trip back to the 1950’s as the American designer sent his models down the catwalk to Be My Little Baby, clad in white tea length skirts, sweaters, flat Italian-style sandals, and embellished floral prints.
